Civility of the Personal Injury Attorney
Civility does not mean weakness. Civility, kindness and love are found on the path to justice for Tennessee personal injury lawyers. Many lawyers in Tennessee are uncivil to witnesses, other lawyers, and the parties. Incivility of attorneys usually arises out of insecurity, fear, and incompetence and has no place in the profession.
Who do we admire: Jesus Christ, Ghandi, Mother Teresa, or Hitler, Mussolini or the Devil?
Civility to all parties to a lawsuit is the only way to insure that justice will occur from the facts. I have been tested by extreme incivility in cases, however, that is not the norm in Tennessee. When lawyers are arrogant or hateful to our clients, a witness or equals, they lose.
Juries are very smart and usually, it has been my experience, will not reward this behavior.
